Synopsis

Ready for some direct re-direction on your commercial reads?  Join industry powerhouse Hugh P. Klitzke for a fast-paced, fun workshop!

This session will begin with a brief lecture where Hugh will share from his experience common issues that crop up repeatedly for actors in commercial reads. Next, Hugh will play a random selection of audition MP3s submitted by participants before class time. He will critique the submitted audition, offer the actor some direct re-direction and give them a chance to do a live re-read incorporating his advice. Feedback will be encouraging, supportive and also (as the name suggests!) very direct. The session will conclude with a Q&A.

Format

Participants will receive a packet of commercial audition copy a few days before class.

Participants will be asked to choose one piece of copy and given submission instructions.

MP3s will be randomly selected during class time.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, not every audition submitted is guaranteed feedback.

Participation selection will happen randomly during class so members will not know beforehand if their submission will be used during class time.

Members also have the option to attend class to listen and learn without submitting an MP3.
