SYNOPSIS
Whether you're in the booth daily or working across multiple projects, the demands on your voice are significant—and sustaining your instrument over the course of a career requires more than just talent. This workshop offers a deep dive into the science of voice production, vocal health, and long-term maintenance—specifically tailored to the needs of professional voice actors working across animation, commercial work, narration, video games, and audiobooks.
Led by voice specialist and SLP Nora Whittaker Jones, this session blends cutting-edge research in voice science, performance medicine, and somatic training to help voice actors reframe their approach to vocal care—much like an elite athlete trains and protects their body. You’ll learn how to build vocal stamina, recognize early signs of fatigue or injury, and apply practical tools to prevent strain during high-output recording sessions.
Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how the voice works, what can go wrong, and—most importantly—how to keep it healthy and responsive over the long haul. This workshop is highly recommended for voice actors at all stages of their careers who want to protect their craft, improve endurance, and sustain creative freedom in the studio for years to come.
