This workshop will examine the voice over industry at large and how it has changed with the Internet. The ability to record copy remotely has radically changed the way business is conducted. In-house agent casting sessions will also be discussed. Key principles for breaking down commercial copy will be demonstrated as well as how to meet the copywriter’s intentions while making bold and interesting actor choices. Physical expression and how to properly incorporate microphone techniques will also be explored.
On the whole, this workshop will discuss the different styles of announcing from testimonial reads to announcer reads, how to take direction, and working more efficiently in the booth. Time permitting, this workshop will delve into marketing tactics and demo reel production.
