Patricia Arquette is a fourth-generation actor whose remarkable career spans film, television, and activism.
She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 'Boyhood,' Richard Linklater’s groundbreaking 12-year project. The role also earned her the Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG, Independent Spirit Award, and accolades from both the New York and Los Angeles Film Critics Circles.
Arquette is currently filming Hulu’s 'Murdaugh Murders,' playing the lead role of Maggie Murdaugh opposite Jason Clarke. She will make her feature directorial debut this summer with 'Gonzo Girl,' based on the best-selling memoir and starring Willem Dafoe, Camila Morrone, and Ray Nicholson.
She recently wrapped production on Kenneth Branagh’s 'The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde,' opposite Jodie Comer, and Kirill Sokolov’s 'The Will Kill You,' opposite Zazie Beetz.
On television, Arquette stars in the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series SEVERANCE alongside Adam Scott, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken. She also serves as a producer on the series with Ben Stiller.
She headlined and executive produced 'High Desert' for Apple TV+, developed with Nancy Fichman, Katie Ford, Jennifer Hoppe, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Ben Stiller’s Red Hour, with all episodes directed by Jay Roach.
Arquette’s performance in Showtime’s 'Escape at Dannemora,' directed by Ben Stiller, earned her the Golden Globe, SAG, and Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Actress in a Limited Series.
She also starred in Hulu’s 'The Act,' winning the Emmy, Golden Globe, and Critics’ Choice Awards. In a rare achievement, she received dual Emmy nominations in the same year for her work in 'The Act' and 'Escape at Dannemora.'
Previously, Arquette earned an Emmy Award for her lead role as Allison Dubois in the long-running CBS drama 'Medium', as well as multiple nominations from the Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Awards. Her additional television work includes leading roles in 'CSI: Cyber' and 'Boardwalk Empire.'

At the 2015 Oscars, Arquette made headlines with a powerful acceptance speech advocating for pay equity and the Equal Rights Amendment. A committed activist, she is a vocal advocate for women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and civil rights, and has received numerous honors, including the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award, GLAAD’s Vanguard Award, and the Eleanor Roosevelt Award from the Feminist Majority. She helped launch the UN Women Equal Pay Platform and testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee in 2019 during the first hearing on the ERA in 36 years.
She is also the founder of GIVELOVE, a nonprofit organization focused on sustainable sanitation and skills training in communities across Colombia, Kenya, Nicaragua, Uganda, and with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
Born in Chicago and now residing in Los Angeles, Arquette comes from a storied entertainment family. She is the granddaughter of comedian Cliff Arquette (a.k.a. “Charlie Weaver”), daughter of actor Lewis Arquette, and sister to fellow actors Rosanna, Richmond, David, and the late Alexis Arquette.
