SYNOPSIS
In this class we will focus on creating characters that are truthful, no matter how "cartoony" the show. We will work on how to identify the tone of the show, understand the text and explore your unique voice print to give life to a variety of different characters.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Michael D. Cohen started as a voice over actor in Vancouver dubbing anime. He landed the series regular role of Ty Archer in Nelvana's Grossology and was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. Other credits include It's a Small World, Vampirina, The Adventures of Kid Danger, Glisten and the Merry Mission and more. Michael teaches acting at his Michael D. Cohen Acting Studio, as well as at the Groundlings, SAG-AFTRA and colleges around the country.
REQUIREMENTS
If you attended Michael D. Cohen's class on March 26, 2025 at the Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab, you are not eligible to attend this class. We want to make sure other actors in the program have the opportunity to work with and learn from our guest instructor, as you did on March 26, 2025. We appreciate your consideration.

This is a small format class with a maximum of 14 actors that will read. We will also have 4 additional seats for auditors . Auditors can attend the class, but are not designated as readers. However, in the event that someone (or multiple people) on the RSVP list does/do not show up for the class, an auditor will be able to claim an vacated RSVP seats(s) and read for the instructor. If the status of an auditor(s) changes, they will be notified, as soon as we are aware of the newly available seat(s).. If you are interested in being an auditor, add your name to the Waitlist when the option is available.
