SYNOPSIS

Join Cathy Kalmenson for a straight forward "Tell it like it is” Interactive workshop: as she shares her experience and provides clarity, insights, and inspiration about creative trends in voiceover, voiceover marketing and most importantly, voiceover acting guidance.  Learn more about the craft  of voice acting and what you need to know for Voiceover in 2026.


INSTRUCTOR BIO

Cathy Kalmenson (President and Co-Founder of Kalmenson & Kalmenson)

You can’t go more than an hour watching TV or listening to the radio without hearing a commercial or programming project in which the Kalmensons cast the voices.  It’s a statement based on decades of dedication to one strong focus: VOICES.  Excellence in Voice Over Casting. Excellence in Voice Over Education.

31 years later, The Kalmenson team still enjoy casting and directing hundreds of voiceover jobs a year: voiceovers for commercials, animation, audio books, video games, internet advertising, etc. and casting the voices for advertising icons including Colonel Sanders, The Pillsbury Dough Boy and Tony the Tiger (in both English and in Spanish).

Memorable projects include:  Tom Hanks’ WWII Documentary “Beyond All Boundaries”. The Voice of Lexus, BMW, Subaru, Kia, Wells Fargo Bank, California Lottery, Facebook, Apple, Google, Twitter,and if you’re hungry: Hardees, El Pollo Loco, Pei Wei, Wholly Guacamole, and many more.

The voices of inanimate objects like talking solar panels, socks, and a waffle iron for Old Spice, and talking muffins and enchiladas for PAM Cooking Spray. Voice matches for Eleanor Roosevelt, Thomas Edison, and Henry Ford . And voices for a multitude of commercials for brands ranging from Diet Coke to Crystal Light, from Call of Duty to Target, from Nike to Harley Davidson, and hundreds more.

Basically, if it needs a voice, the Kalmenson Team team casts it.


REQUIREMENTS

This class is virtual.

The class is open to everyone.  Voiceover Lab eligibility is not required to attend.

This is a large format class with 50 or more actors in attendance.
