Synopsis
Steering clear of fiction audiobooks because voicing characters makes your palms sweat? Then this class is for you! Join proud SAG-AFTRA member, actor and storytelling coach David H. Lawrence XVII for a hands-on audiobook workshop that will start you on a journey toward relaxing, de-stressing, embracing -and maybe even enjoying- the challenge of voicing multiple characters. In this class participants will learn tools for differentiating voices in an audiobook performance while maintaining an authentic connection to human behavior as well as to the overall tone and purpose of the story. Participants will explore the role of narration in an audiobook and how it functions differently than dialogue. Copy will be provided by the instructor. Each reader (see note below) will have the opportunity to receive detailed individual feedback on their work. Participants should arrive warmed up and ready to dive in!
NOTE ABOUT READERS : This class will have a very limited number of seats for readers before it is marked 'full' and the waitlist is opened. If you wish to audit the session (i.e. listen and watch only without the opportunity to read), please add your name to the waitlist. All members on the waitlist will be considered seated as auditors. If you do not wish to attend as an auditor, please refrain from putting your name on the waitlist.
