BIO:

Amy Madigan starred as “Aunt Gladys” in Zach Cregger’s hit film WEAPONS, which has grossed over $269 million worldwide and has earned her a second Oscar nomination for “Best Supporting Actress.”  A critically-acclaimed actress of film, television and stage, Madigan received her first Oscar nomination for “Best Supporting Actress” for the film 'Twice in a Lifetime.'  Her film credits include 'American Woman' with Sienna Miller, 'Stuck' with Giancarlo Esposito, Scott Cooper’s 'Antlers' with Keri Russell and Jesse Plemons, Craig Zobel’s 'The Hunt' with Betty Gilpin, Ed Harris’ 'Pollock' in which she played “Peggy Guggenheim,” Ben Affleck’s 'Gone Baby Gone, Field of Dreams' with Kevin Costner, John Hughes’ 'Uncle Buck' with John Candy, Robert Benton’s 'Places in the Heart' with Sally Field and Walter Hill’s 'Streets of Fire.' Madigan recently starred in Max Walker-Silverman’s independent film 'Rebuilding' alongside Josh O’Connor and Meghann Fahy.  She is currently shooting James Ponsoldt’s film 'Sponsor' with Jason Segel and John C. Reilly for Apple.

In television, Madigan received a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy nomination for her performance in the telefilm ROE VS. WADE.  Additional TV credits include J.J. Abrams’ FRINGE, GREY’S ANATOMY, HBO’s THE LARAMIE PROJECT and the HBO series CARNIVÀLE and John Logan/HBO’s PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS.  She just joined the cast of the Amblin/Netflix limited series ALL THE SINNERS BLEED, based on S.A. Crosby’s bestselling novel.

On stage, Madigan made her West End debut with Sam Shepard’s BURIED CHILD, which originated at The New Group in NY.  She also starred in the critically-acclaimed productions of Beth Henley’s THE JACKSONIAN at The New Group (NY) and the Geffen Playhouse (LA).  Other theater credits include Broadway’s A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, Mark Taper Forum’s A LIE OF THE MIND and Manhattan Theatre Club’s THE LUCKY SPOT.
