SYNOPSIS
Twisted Wave 102 is specifically for those that want to understand the final stage of audio production for recorded audiobooks. The process is called mastering and mastering is required before an audiobook can be released to consumers. We will be exploring mastering concepts and building on what you learned in our Twisted Wave 101: Recording, Editing and Workflow class and/or from what you have learned from being a proficient user of the software. This class may also benefit voiceover performers that want to understand how audio processing can be used for demo production, as well. Lastly, it is a prerequisite for Twisted Wave 103, where participants will learn about specific plug-ins that will add another layer of professional quality to your voiceover recordings.
REQUIREMENTS
This class is virtual.
Participants must stay for entire program (see Duration above)
This is an advanced class that will discuss audio mastering techniques to help actors prepare their recorded audio for audiobook distribution. For instance, when you finish narrating and editing your audiobook recordings and need to prepare/finalize those audio recordings for distribution on ACX.
Some of the mastering techniques in this class can be applied to other recording software, but for this class, the focus will be on using Twisted Wave for mastering audio. Seating is limited to better serve the attendees.
Proficiency recording with Twisted Wave and/or completion of Twisted Wave 101 is recommended (but not required). If you have questions about this, contact the Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab.
Participants are encouraged to have your computers with Twisted Wave (Trial Version or Purchased Version) downloaded onto your computer and operating properly, so you can follow along
We will be using the latest Mac OS version of Twisted Wave. For attendees with the Windows/PC version of Twisted Wave, the process will be similar.
We will not be working with the Mac iOS (iPad/iPhone) version of Twisted Wave. Get your copy of Twisted Wave at twistedwave.com.
