Synopsis

A good 85% of auditions, audiobook production, and even broadcast ready voiceovers are being recorded in home studios now-a-days. Knowing how and what is needed to self-record is important for VO talent to be more viable and competitive. Join James Romick for a discussion of ideas on how to create a budget-friendly, professional home set-up. He will discuss maximizing your space, gear purchases, and tips and tools for optimal sound conditions. He will delve into the pros and cons of different recording software platforms  and define some basic terms that are necessary to understand to get started.  James will also share helpful links to online resources.  All levels are welcome but class is designed for beginners.

Instructor Bio

James Romick has been a member of SAG-AFTRA since 1980.  Between acting gigs in the mid 1980s, James also studied audio engineering at The Institute of Audio Research in NYC when editing analog magnetic tape with a splicing block and razor blade was the norm.
