BIO:
Katherine LaNasa has gained critical acclaim, as well as her first Emmy and Critics Choice Award wins for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” for her portrayal of E.R. charge nurse Dana Evans in the Emmy-winning and The Actor Awards winning HBO Max drama series The Pitt. Her role has earned her recognition with additional nominations from the Gold Derby TV Awards and the Gotham TV Awards as well as praise from fans, critics and healthcare workers alike. The Pitt is among the top three most-watched HBO Max titles ever and recently concluded its second season. Production will begin soon on its highly anticipated third season.
Coming up, LaNasa will appear in the Hulu limited series Count My Lies alongside Shailene Woodley, Lindsay Lohan, and Kit Harington.
With over three decades in the industry, LaNasa continues to star in impactful and genre-defying roles across film and television. A proud New Orleans native, Katherine began her career as a professional ballet dancer and choreographer. At 14, she was accepted into The North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) where she trained before launching an international ballet career at 17. Years later she moved to Los Angeles and after a chance viewing of a documentary about legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner, she sought Meisner out and convinced him to accept her into his acting program.
Her filmography includes leading roles in Jay Roach’s The Campaign starring opposite Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis and Jayne Mansfield’s Car directed by and starring Billy Bob Thorton, alongside Robert Duvall and Kevin Bacon, as well as supporting turns in the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day directed by Garry Marshall, The Lucky Ones with Rachel McAdams, Tim Robbins and Michael Peña, Alfie opposite Jude Law, and Stephen Soderbergh’s Schizopolis.
On television, recent series regular roles include the Apple TV drama Truth Be Told opposite Octavia Spencer, Bravo/Netflix’s fan favorite Imposters, and CW’s Katy Keene with Lucy Hale. Other notable credits include Seinfeld, E.R., Grey’s Anatomy, Two and A Half Men, Future Man, Big Love, Justified, Longmire and Daredevil: Born Again.
An environmental activist, and mother of two, Katherine lives in LA with her husband, actor Grant Show.
