WITHOUT A TRACE is a riveting procedural drama about the Missing Persons Squad of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The sole responsibility of the special task force is to find missing persons by applying advanced psychological profiling techniques to peel back the layers of the victims' lives and trace their whereabouts in an effort to discover whether they have been abducted, been murdered, committed suicide or simply runaway.

The team reconstructs a "Day of Disappearance" timeline that details every minute of the 24 hours prior to the disappearance, following one simple rule: learn who the victim is in order to learn where the victim is. Senior agent Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia), a seasoned, astute and deeply emotional man, heads the dedicated team that knows too well that every second counts when someone vanishes. His squad includes Samantha Spade (Poppy Montogomery), an agent whose blonde good looks belie a tough, complex approach to her work; Vivian Johnson (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), a no-nonsense investigator with a special insight into victims' families; Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano), whose sensitivity is often covered up by his street smarts, and Martin Fitzgerald (Eric Close), who earned his stripes last year as the newest member of the team who still has a lot to prove. As the team continues to work on varied and complicated cases, more details about their own lives begin to unfold.

Anthony LaPaglia won a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award for his performance in "A View from the Bridge." He is also producing a feature-film version of the Arthur Miller classic.

LaPaglia's other stage credits include the Off Off Broadway production of "The Guys," the story of a fire captain and an editor who discuss the men lost in the World Trade Center attack on September 11. Sigourney Weaver and LaPaglia starred in the feature-film version, which was released in late 2002. He also appeared Off Broadway in "Bouncers," "Northeast Local," "On the Open Road" and "The Rose Tattoo," which earned him a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play.

His television credits include a recurring role in "Frasier," for which he earned an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Daphne's brother, Simon Moon. He also starred in the series "Murder One" and the television movies "Never Give Up: The Jimmy V. Story," on CBS, "Criminal Justice," for which he received a CableACE nomination, and "Garden of Redemption." He will star in the upcoming television film "Spinning Boris."

His numerous feature-film credits include the critically acclaimed "Lantana," "Betsy's Wedding," "The House of Mirth," "Analyze That," "Sweet and Lowdown," "The Client," "Company Man," "Summer of Sam," "Autumn in New York," "Lansky," "Phoenix," "Commandments" and "Brilliant Lies."

He attended Tulane University and Boston Law School before deciding to become an actor. Once that decision was reached, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his goal.
