Russell Means, born an Oglala/Lakota in 1939, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation near the Black Hills. As a young man, Russell's life was full of ups and downs. In the late 60s he became focused and put his energy into fighting for Indian rights with The American Indian Movement. He became the first national director of AIM.

For more than twenty seven years, Russell has remained active with the American Indian Movement. Russell has traveled extensively throughout the world while working for over twelve years with the United Nations.

Russell began his career in Hollywood in 1991. He has starred in numerous feature films, wrote his autobiography, recorded two albums, and started his own production company.

Russell has had lead roles in major feature films, "The Last of the Mohicans," Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers," as a chief in John Candy's comedy "Wagons East" and as the ghost of Jim Thorpe in "Wind Runner;" Disney's third highest ever selling video "Pocahontas" in which he was the voice of Pocahontas' father, a television documentary for HBO "Paha Sapa," "Indian, Father and Son" a pilot he created; Two albums of protest music with lyrics he wrote "Eletric Warrior" and "The Radical." On the technological side, he stars in a CD-ROM "Under A Killing Moon" and has created his own website www.russllmeans.com. The website features information regarding the A.I.M. club, his recordings via the American Indian Music Company, his art, book, current events, biography and upcoming appearances and direct email to Russell. Russell continues the fight for self-determination through the media to reach millions.

Russell Means will be seen in the upcoming film "Black Cloud." "Black Cloud" is an inspirational story about a young Navajo Native American boxer who overcomes personal challenges as he comes to terms with his heritage while fighting his way for a spot on the US Olympic boxing team.

"Black Cloud" brings us closer to understanding the wonders of beauty, honour and tradition...and the trials we face in poverty, darkness and fear. At every turn, you find hope and inspiration in Black Cloud.

Black Cloud feels alone in his world. He's troubled by his uncertain ancestry, and his future is unfolding without direction. The only thing, of which he is certain, is his passion for fighting. Fortunately for Black Cloud, he has a more than a spiritual guide on his journeys.

Bud is his boxing coach, his friend and as Black Cloud soon learns, his driving force. It is Bud who will help Black Cloud achieve his dreams.
