SYNOPSIS

Learn how to develop the voice of your very own video game character with Neil Kaplan's help.

In this workshop the emphasis will be on character development for voicing video games. The techniques learned in this workshop can also be applied to animation and commercial work. Veteran voice actor, Neil Kaplan, will help actors access and shape characters by understanding the goals and emotions within each actors's own life experiences. Regardless of a character's species, origin, shape or size, each incarnation will have its roots planted in reality. This is bound to be a fun ride.

This workshop will end at 5:00 pm.


INSTRUCTOR BIO

Neil Kaplan

Neil has voiceover credits from commercials, audio books, video games and more. His voice has been heard on popular series' like Robot Chicken, Marvel Anime: Iron ManThe Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and currently, the fan favorite Naruto: Shippuden. However, he is perhaps best known as the voice of the iconic shape shifting hero Optimus Prime in the animated series Transformers: Robots in Disguise. His video game credits include Bioshock Infinite, the Skylanders franchise, Venom & Sabretooth in Marvel Universe, the Mouth of Sauron and numerous Orcs in Warner Brothers current hit The Shadows of Mordor and many othersIn addition, he provided the voice of cult fan favorite Tychus Findlay in Blizzard Entertainment's highly popular Starcraft 2 and the upcoming release Heroes of the Storm.

Neil also volunteers as a teacher at the Braille Institute of Los Angeles and was the founder of the non-profit entertainment provider Audio Theater for the Troops.
