JEFF BRIDGES (Ted Cole)
Jeff Bridges is a four-time Academy Award nominee. His nominated performances were in Rod Lurie's The Contender, John Carpenter's Starman, Michael Cimino's Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and Peter Bogdanovich's The Last Picture Show.
While a teenager, he made his acting debut on his father Lloyd's television series, Sea Hunt. Since then, he has starred in nearly 60 films. He previously starred opposite The Door in the Floor leading lady Kim Basinger in Robert Benton's Nadine.
Mr. Bridges' many other films include Gary Ross' Seabiscuit, Larry Charles' Masked and Anonymous, Iain Softley's K-PAX, Mark Pellington's Arlington Road, Joel and Ethan Coen's The Big Lebowski, Barbra Streisand's The Mirror Has Two Faces (with his fellow The Door in the Floor actor Mimi Rogers), Stephen Hopkins' Blown Away (starring with his father), Peter Weir's Fearless, Terry Gilliam's The Fisher King, Steve Kloves' The Fabulous Baker Boys (starring with his brother Beau), Francis Ford Coppola's Tucker: The Man and His Dream, Richard Marquand's Jagged Edge, Steven Lisberger's Tron, William Richert's Winter Kills and The American Success Company, Bob Rafelson's Stay Hungry, John Frankenheimer's The Iceman Cometh, Robert Benton's Bad Company, and John Huston's Fat City.
His Asis Productions produced Martin Bell's American Heart, which earned him an Independent Spirit Award for Best Actor.
In 1983, Mr. Bridges founded the End Hunger Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding children around the world. He is also an accomplished photographer and painter whose work has become highly sought after. In October 2003, powerHouse Books published his first monograph, Pictures, a collection of photographs taken on the sets and behind the scenes of his movies over the past quarter-century, with proceeds benefiting the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
An exhibition of some of his Widelux panoramic photographs will be on view at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY from July 17th to September 19th, 2004, and at the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, CA from November 14th, 2004 to March 13th, 2005.
Mr. Bridges also recently fulfilled a life long dream by releasing his first album, Be Here Soon, on Ramp Records, the Santa Barbara, California label he co-founded with Michael McDonald and producer/singer/songwriter Chris Pelonis. The CD features guest appearances by vocalist/keyboardist McDonald, Grammy-nominated artist Amy Holland, and country-rock legend David Crosby. Ramp Records also released McDonald's album Blue Obsession.
