Rachel Brosnahan - Actor
Rachel Brosnahan is a multifaceted actor who has quickly become one of the industry's most sought-after young talents. Brosnahan has showcased her versatility and depth on some of television's most critically acclaimed dramas and is quickly making a name for herself on the big screen.
Brosnahan was recently nominated for an Emmy for her role in the third season of the Emmy-nominated Netflix series, House of Cards, opposite Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. She played Rachel Posner, the former call girl who endured a complicated relationship with Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) Chief of Staff, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly). Brosnahan is currently in production on the second season of WGN America's 1940's drama Manhattan, where she is reprising her role as Abby Isaacs. Season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, October 13.
Brosnahan will next be seen in Joachim Trier's Louder Than Bombs, starring opposite Jesse Eisenberg and Amy Ryan. The film premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and will be distributed by The Orchard. She recently wrapped production on Craig Gillespie's The Finest Hours, alongside Chris Pine, Eric Bana, Ben Foster and Casey Affleck. The film will be released by Walt Disney Studios in early 2016.
Brosnahan was also recently seen in the CBS miniseries, The Dovekeepers, which focused on three women banding together for survival in the tumultuous ancient Israel. The two-part series premiered in March 2015. Other TV credits include HBO's critically acclaimed miniseries Olive Kitteridge, Netflix' Orange is the New Black as well as recurring roles on NBC's The Blacklist and ABC's Black Box.
Brosnahan is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She is based in New York.
