SYNOPSIS
In this workshop, sound designers and voiceover directors Jason Kanter and Dominic Vega from video game developer Avalanche Studios will lead a discussion on techniques and approaches to Video Game VO. Drawing from experience designing the recently released Just Cause 3, our instructors will detail the needs and place of Voiceover in a modern AAA-title video game. Participants will also have the opportunity to record to scenes from Just Cause 3.

INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Jason Kanter
Jason Kanter is currently Audio Lead for Avalanche Studios in NYC. Over the past ten years he's worked on a number of games including: BioShock 2; XCOM: Enemy Unknown; Sims 2; League Of Legends; CrimeCraft; and Barbie Diaries: High School Mystery. Jason's been in professional audio for over twenty years and has done work in film and television but got his start in music production, recording, mixing and producing records for bands playing everything from Latin funk to punk and hardcore.
Dominic Vega
Dominic Vega is a Sound Designer at Avalanche Studios here in New York, where he’s spent the last year working on Just Cause 3, in both audio content and implementation. Before joining Avalanche, Dominic was a sound designer and voiceover specialist for Somatone Interactive in San Francisco, where he spent several years working on sound design, implementation, and voice over assets for some of the most popular PC, console, and mobile games from companies like Riot, Wargaming, Disney, Marvel, and Zynga. He got his start in the industry as an intern in the audio departments of Insomniac Games working on Resistance 3, and Sony Computer Entertainment, working on Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.
