Synopsis:

Sara Sherman REALLY knows animation. She is a veteran of the industry and continues to bring memorable animated characters to life through the numerous successful series' she oversees.  For Sara, the emphasis is on an actors ability to act, take direction and deliver on the comedic/dramatic/emotional nuances within an animation script.  She will take you through various aspects of character development, answer questions about her casting process and give you a better understanding of what it takes to shine in animation voiceover.

About our guest instructor:

Sara Jane Sherman, Executive Director of Casting for Disney TVA has been casting cartoons for Disney Television Animation for the past 10 years and has worked in the world of animation for 16 years. Currently she oversees the casting on Disney Channel’s TANGLED, BIG HERO 6, MILO MURPHY’S LAW, GRAVITY FALLS, and STAR VS THE FORCES OF EVIL. She is responsible for the VO cast on all animated Disney Channel pilots, roughly 5 per year. Her credits also include PHINEAS AND FERB, MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE, YIN, YANG, YO, FISH HOOKS and SUPER ROBOT MONKEY TEAM HYPERFORCE GO! Additionally, Sara handles Talent Relations for all TV animation and Disney Junior series.

Prior to joining to Disney, Sara worked in development at Klasky Csupo known for RUGRATS and AS TOLD BY GINGER and Gullane Entertainment known for THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE. She started her career as Steven Bochco’s production assistant.
