SYNOPSIS

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Los Angeles Short Film Showcase is a cinematic celebration of new projects designed to encourage performers to create their own short films and web series.

Held twice a year, in April and August at our Los Angeles Screening Room, the showcase not only features a shorts program, but includes a Q&A and reception with the films’ directors, producers and actors present at the screening.


FILMS

THE BRIDGE PARTNER - Gabriel Olson, writer, director, producer
A timid housewife is jolted into a fight for her survival or sanity when she thinks she hears her new partner at a weekly bridge game whisper a shocking threat.


CUDDLE PARTY - Matthew Irving Epstein, writer, director, producer
A bickering couple torment other participants as they attend a cuddle therapy group.


ON TIME - Xavier Neal-Burgin, writer, director, producer
Renee Johnson, a mother living in South Central LA, must make a difficult decision when she's late for her job interview.


SOUTH ARCADIA ST. - Melanie D'Andrea, writer, director, editor
As Jordan and his teacher's escalating struggle in their high school class leads to his arrest, the pressures they each bear are revealed.


THE MOMENT I WAS ALONE - Kellen Gibbs, writer, director
When time stops around a young girl, she is forced to grow alone while the world around her stays locked in a moment.


WHY IS THE SEA BOILING - Zach Ziegel, director
Jim finds himself in deep water when he meets Sarah, a young girl who tempts his unacceptable desires.
