SYNOPSIS

Star Butterfly, a magical princess from another dimension, receives a royal magic wand for her 14th birthday, but after she accidentally sets fire to their castle, her parents decide it’s safer to send her to school somewhere that doesn’t have magic: planet Earth. Star becomes an interdimensional exchange student, living with the Diaz family and their son Marco. Together, they battle other-worldly monsters and evil villains throughout the multiverse and in high school, all in an effort to protect her powerful magic wand, which she is still figuring out how to use.


PANELIST BIOS

Daron Nefcy, Creator, Executive Producer, Actor

Daron Nefcy is creator and executive producer of the Annie Award-nominated original hit series Star vs. The Forces of Evil, one of Disney XD’s most-watched animated series. Nefcy combines comedy and magic in this unique show which has aired all over the world. Since Star's debut,Nefcy has been awarded Variety's 10 Animators to Watch and made Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2015.  The Los Angeles Times featured Nefcy in a cover story about the growing influence of women in animation and the increasing enrollment of women in art schools.  A 2009 California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) graduate,Nefcy’sstorytelling abilityr esulted in her films appearing each year in the Character Animation Producer's Show.

Nefcy's other television credits include Disney XD's Wander Over Yonder, Warner Bros. animated series MAD and Nickelodeon's Robot and Monster.

Adam McArthur, Actor, Inprovisor

Adam McArthur currently stars as Marco Diaz on the Disney XD animated series, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, which is airing its 3rd season.  He also has recurring voiceover roles on Emmy-Award winning series' Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Cartoon Network) and Puss in Boots (Netflix). His voiceover work continues as he has been cast to voice several characters in Far Cry 5 from Ubisoft, which was announced at this year's E3 and he will also be part of the voiceover cast of Final Fantasy XV (15).  

Grey Griffin, Actor,

Grey Griffin is an accomplished American voice actress and GRAMMY® Award winning singer-songwriter. To date, she has voiced over 1,000 characters.  A familiar voice in today’s popular cartoons and video games, Grey’s voice career is one that spans almost two decades. She has voiced more characters than any female in the industry, according to Behind The Voice Actors. Between iconic characters like Daphne Blake from the classic Scooby-Doo franchise and Emily Elizabeth on Clifford the Big Red Dog, to cult favorites like Azula of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Ming-Hua on The Legend of Korra, Grey’s credits list is one with wide range.

Dana Davis, Actor

Dana L. Davis is a writer of novels for teens with her debut novel, Seven Days of Stone hitting shelves nationwide May 1st, 2018 from HarlequinTEEN. In addition to her work as a writer, Dana is also an on camera and voiceover actress with previous series regular roles as: Carmen Phillips on TNT’s Franklin and Bash, head Cheerleader Chastity Church on 10 Things IHate About You and modern day mimic Monica Dawson on NBC’s cult series Heroes.  Dana has also starred in recurring roles on Code Black, Bones, Body of Proof, Gilmore Girls, and Veronica Mars. She has guest-starred in over 20 prestigious primetime series, including Grey’s Anatomy, CSI, and Cold Case. Dana is currently voicing Kit on Cartoon Network's Craig of the Creek and Kelly on Disney XD's Star Vs. the Forces of Evil.

Rider Strong, Actor

After being cast as Gavroche in Les Miserables at nine years old, Rider Strong started a professional career that’s lasted over two decades and spanned a variety of genres and formats. He is best known for Boy Meets World and the cult horror film, CabinFever. Along with his brother, Rider has written and directed short films that have played over 60 festivals worldwide and won both audience and juried awards. In a recent return to their roots, the brothers have been directing Girl Meets World.  Rider created and co-hosts the podcast Literary Disco.

Rachel Glauber, Casting

Rachel Glauber currently counts Star vs. the Forces of Evil as one of her growing list of casting credits.  As a Casting Director for Disney TV Animation she has cast The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar (TV movie), The Lion Guard (TV series) and Mickey and the Roadster Racers.  She previously worked in talent coordination at Disney TVA on popular series' such as: Fish Hooks, Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls and Sofia the First.
