SYNOPSIS
This class will include a Q&A and a either a cold or prepared reading session with an experienced casting professional.
Actors choice for cold/prepared read. If you would like to bring a piece you are working on for feedback, you are encouraged to do so. Claire will also provide cold read scenes for anyone who would prefer.
CASTING DIRECTOR BIO
Claire Koonce hails from the US Midwest, where her love of stories fueled a lifelong passion for free expression. She now works as a casting director in Los Angeles, focusing on both feature and television casting. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Claire taught preschool and classical music before venturing into casting. She developed a foundation for inclusive casting and in her projects, she insists on a positive approach to the process, striving to dismantle any negativity surrounding the audition room.
In her continuous collaborations with Marvel TV and Legendary Pictures, she has helped discover up and coming actors who are now household names.
Outside of casting, Claire shapes and mentors developing actors by teaching specified skills, which remove all barriers that restrict them from achieving their full potential.
REQUIREMENTS
You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.
Please note that the 90-day frequency restriction applies to this class. Your last frequency-restricted class must have taken place no less than 90 (ninety) days prior to this event to be eligible to register.
NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
