This class will include a Q&A with LA based Casting Director Mark Teschner, followed by a prepared work session. 

Participating actors will choose, prepare and perform dramatic sides from film or television.

BIO

A native New Yorker, Mark Teschner has been a casting director for 42 years. “Rolling Stone Magazine” has called him an “actor’s casting director” and “TV Guide” noted his “unparalleled track record for discovering new talent”.

For the past 35 years, Mark has been the Casting Director for  ABC’s “General Hospital”, casting almost 9,000 episodes. For his work on the show he has received  11 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Casting, as well as 7 Artios Awards (awarded by the Casting Society of America) for Outstanding Casting.  In addition to casting General Hospital, he cast all 6 seasons of “Port Charles”, the first General Hospital spin-off and both seasons of the second spin off, “Night Shift”.  Mark was recently honored with the 2024 Silver Circle , awarded by NATAS, for achievement and leadership in the industry.

Mark has served as the Vice president of the Casting Society of America, and is a former Governor for the Television Academy. He resides in Los Angeles.
