CLASS SYNOPSIS

This class will include a Q&A with LA based casting professional, Katrina Wandel George, followed by a prepared work session. 

Participating actors will choose, prepare and perform comedic scenes from television.

Additional preparation details will be sent via email upon confirmation.

ABOUT KATRINA

Katrina Wandel George is a Casting Director/Associate Casting Director with over 17 years of experience in Casting highlighted by Artios nominations (Casting Director - UnReal Season 1, Associate Casting Director - Avatar: The Way of Water) and win (Associate Casting Director - Live in Front of a Studio Audience). Katrina has worked on a broad range of television, features and new media in both the comedy and drama space.

Katrina is currently mostly focused in the comedy casting space and has been lucky to work with & learn from comedy casting greats such as Marc Hirschfeld, Wendy O'Brien, Tracy Lilienfeld, Geralyn Flood and for the last couple wonderful years, Jill Anthony Thomas and Anthony J. Kraus, most recently working as their associate on Loot (Apple TV+), Not Dead Yet (ABC), Unstable (Netflix), Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Lionsgate).

Katrina spent two years on the Casting Society Board of Directors (the last year as Secretary) and 4 years on the Casting Society Cares board. Katrina was on the Casting Assistant Training & Education committee from the beginning (10 years),  a team that worked on the development and implementation of the Casting Assistant Training Program of which she was the program coordinator for five of those 10 years. The program is designed to help train and encourage the next generation of casting professionals, which is one of Katrina's passions. From 2020-2023, Katrina took on the added position of Co-Membership Coordinator at CSA, helping launch & run CSA's inaugural Mentorship Program sponsored by CSA's Alliance and was a co-producer of the Artios Awards 2019-2021.
