SYNOPSIS
This in-person class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with New York based casting professional, Avani Parikh Dhar.
Participating actors will prepare and perform a scene of their choice from film or tv, two minutes in length or less.
ABOUT AVANI
Avani Parikh Dhar, aka Chimera Casting, is an independent Casting Director based in NYC. Originally from India, she brings a unique perspective to casting, having lived and worked on four continents. She focuses on diversity and authentic ethnic casting. Avani casts globally and has a well-established network in the USA, South and South East Asia, the UK, Europe, and Africa.
Her recent credits include the feature film The Collaborator, based on a best-selling novel that premiered at the San Diego International Film Festival, and Dances with Films, and festival shorts Dosh, Hema, and Nani. She's currently casting a South Asian comedy feature and two shorts and developing another feature film project.
REQUIREMENTS
You must have completed a Casting Access Application prior to registering for this class.
Please note that the 30-day frequency restriction applies to this class. Your last frequency-restricted class must have taken place no less than 30 (thirty) days prior to this event to be eligible to register.
NO LATE ARRIVALS and NO WALK-INS are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from staff will be admitted to the session. Waitlisted individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as RSVPed.
