This class will include a Q&A with NY based Casting Director,Susan Shopmaker, followed by a prepared work session.
Participating actors will prepare and perform scenes of their choice from film/television. Additional information will be sent in your RSVP confirmation email.
To be eligible to take this class, actors must have 4 co-stars or one guest star, recurring or lead in a major studio/network/streamer film or TV series. Equivalent theater credits may be considered. MFA graduates from select colleges and universities may be considered. Eligibility for this class will be determined by the resume on the actor's Casting Access profile. Please ensure your Casting Access profile is fully up to date as we will only consider the information contained within your profile.
Performers' eligibility will be reviewed in the order they were added to the waitlist. Attendance will be confirmed via email if there space.

ABOUT SUSAN
Susan Shopmaker is one of independent film's most respected casting directors, with over 20 years of feature film credits to her name. In 2018 she won the Casting Society of America's Artios Award for Eliza Hittman's Beach Rats and previously won an Artios Award for Sean Durkin’s acclaimed Sundance drama Martha Marcy May Marlene, and was also nominated for Darius Marder’s Academy Award winning film Sound Of Metal, Goat (Andrew Neel), James White (Josh Mond), Afterschool (Antonio Campos), and Disney's Enchanted.
In 2021-2022 Susan cast Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, Alonso Ruizpalacios’s La Cocina, Michel Franco’s Memory & Sean Durkin’s The Iron Claw .
She also cast Paul Schrader’s First Reformed, The Card Counter and worked on his latest, The Master Gardener. Susan also cast John Cameron Mitchell’s cult classic Hedwig and the Angry Inch, John Slattery's God's Pocket & Maggie Moore(s), Michel Franco’s Chronic (Cannes 2015 Award Winner & 2017 Spirit Award Nominee), Franco’s Sundown (2021), and The Nest for Sean Durkin.
Television work includes the Amazon series Dead Ringers and both seasons of Terence Nance’s Random Acts Of Flyness for HBO.
Other awards: Ensemble acting award for Carlos Puga’s All That I Am at SXSW 2013 and Best actress award to entire cast of women in Lance Edmand’s Bluebird at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
