This class will include a Q&A with LA based Casting Director Meg Mormon, followed by a prepared work session.
Participating actors will prepare a scene assigned by the Casting Director several days before the class.
Additional preparation details will be sent upon RSVP confirmation.
BIO
Meg began her career as Associate, then Manager of Casting in the Feature Film Department of 20th Century Fox working on such films as Ice Age, Unfaithful, and From Hell. Following her time at the studio, Meg worked with casting director Shelia Jaffe on several studio and indie films including The Italian Job, Be Cool and The Machinist.
With the films Me and You and Everyone We Know (Miranda July, John Hawkes) and Steal Me (Hunter Parrish, Paz del la Huerte), both premiered at Sundance, Meg stepped out into a solo casting career.
In late 2004, Meg partnered with Sunday Boling Kennedy to form Morman Boling Casting and together they have focused on quality, character driven films and series. Most notably Hello, My Name is Doris, Waitress, Hunter Gatherer, I Believe in Unicorns, Natural Selection, and Mississippi Damned. Recent theatrical releases include Aporia (Judy Greer, Edi Gathegi) The Ballad of Lefty Brown (Bill Pullman, Jim Caviezel, Peter Fonda) and Unlovable (John Hawkes, Melissa Leo) both SXSW selections.
On the series side, Meg and Sunny cast The Baxter’s (Roma Downey, Ted McGinley) currently streaming on Amazon, Netflix’s Sneakerheads (Allen Maldonado, Andrew Bachelor), as well as the Emmy nominated Relationship Status (Milo Ventimiglia, Sean Ashmore, Willa Fitzgerald).
An Artios Award winner and Heller Award nominee, she has served on the board of Casting Society of America and as a casting advisor for Film Independent’s Directing Lab and Global Media Makers project.
