SYNOPSIS
This in-person class will include a Q&A and a prepared reading session with New York based Casting Director, Susanne Scheel.
Participating actors will prepare and perform a scene of their choice from film or tv, two minutes in length or less.
To be eligible to take this class, actors must have 4 co-stars or one guest star, recurring or lead in a major studio/network/streamer film or TV series. Equivalent theater credits may be considered. MFA graduates from select colleges and universities may be considered. Eligibility for this class will be determined by the resume on the actor's Casting Access profile. Please ensure your Casting Access profile is fully up to date as we will only consider the information contained within your profile.
Performers' eligibility will be reviewed in the order they were added to the waitlist. Attendance will be confirmed via email if there space.
Additional preparation details will be sent upon confirmation.
ABOUT SUSAN
Susanne Scheel is a New York-based casting director with a film degree from Boston University. Susanne has won four Casting Society of America Artios Awards for Excellence in Casting and has been nominated for nine more. Susanne has had the honor of collaborating with several visionary creatives including Kathryn Bigelow, Joel Coen, Ethan Coen, Frances McDormand, Barry Levinson, George Clooney, Kasi Lemmons, Ryan Murphy, James Ashcroft, Jim Mickle, Cherien Dabis, John Lee Hancock, Peter Chelsom, Celine Song, Bjorn Runge, Xavier Manrique, Danya Taymor, Patrick Wilson, Whitney White, and Grant Singer.
As a casting director, Susanne’s debut feature film “The Wife” premiered at TIFF and starred Glenn Close (Nominated for an Academy Award for the role), Jonathan Pryce, Christian Slater, and Elizabeth McGovern. Susanne co-cast Celine Song’s “Past Lives” with Ellen Chenoweth. “Past Lives” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, screened at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, and was nominated for numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Susanne resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, Robbie Eleazer (Director of Design at Trahan Architects), their two daughters, Elsie and June, and their beloved miniature schnauzer, Emma.
