This class will include a Q&A with New York based Casting Director Leeba Zakharov, followed by a prepared work session. 

Participating actors will choose, prepare and perform sides from film or television.

ABOUT LEEBA:  

Leeba Zakharov is a native New Yorker and film and television casting director who has worked with acclaimed filmmakers over the past two decades. An immigrant raised on the Lower East Side, she minored in theater at SUNY Albany. Early in her career, prior to transitioning into casting, she served as an assistant at Miramax and Madstone Films before joining Focus Features, where she honed her skills in development and acquisitions. Leeba proudly credits her casting career to Avy Kaufman, whose mentorship instilled in her a lifelong commitment to collaboration, trust, and honoring the actor’s process. She is bilingual in Russian and English and brings a culturally nuanced perspective to the stories she helps bring to life.
