CLASS FORMAT

This class is for young performers 8-13 years old only.  No performers over the age of 18 will be admitted.  

Parents/guardians are invited to join for a 30-45 minute Q&A at the top of the class, where Tineka will deep dive into the business of the business.

CASTING DIRECTOR BIO

TINEKA BECKER is a Casting Director with over 20 yrs of experience casting Film & Television, with a background as a classically trained actor and theater director. During her time in the features casting department at Paramount Pictures, she helped to cast roles in 'World War Z', 'Paranormal Activity 3', 'Not Fade Away' and 'The Dictator'. She has also been on the casting teams for 'X-Men: Apocalypse', 'Little Fockers', 'Twilight: New Moon', Peter Jackson’s 'The Lovely Bones', 'A Christmas Carol' w/ Jim Carrey, 'Heaven Is For Real', Tom Ford’s directorial debut 'A Single Man', Hulu’s 'Tell Me Lies', 'The Mysterious Benedict Society' for Disney+, and the Amazon series 'Reacher'.

Her independent projects have premiered at prestige festivals including Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca, Santa Barbara, and Palm Springs, to name just a few. Some of her projects that are currently available to stream include 'The Artist’s Wife' starring Lena Olin & Bruce Dern, 'The 11th Green' (NYT Critic’s pick), 'Breaking Fast' (GLAAD award nominee), the Netflix docu-series 'Heist', and the indie western 'Badland'.

She was nominated for Best Feature Casting Director at the Santa Fe Film Festival for 'The Big Bend', which also won Best Ensemble Cast at the Savannah Film Festival, and is available to stream on Apple TV+ and Amazon. She just received her first Artios Award nomination for 'Leading Man', which won the Most Moving Narrative Award at Tribeca in 2024.

Tineka was born in The Netherlands, reared in the States, and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s theater program.
